Snow and Unmentioned Oyster Costs.

Well it would appear that after speaking to the TFL's Oyster customer service people, who checked with their supervisor that I'm less of a customer then those that buy tickets. Last week we had snow in Britain and even after many promises due to the complete failure the previous year the rail network shutdown and almost no trains ran, those that did where delayed and completely packed.
Now it would seem that because I didn't buy a ticket I'm not entitled to a refund, as if you bought a ticket you could just wave it at the gate and they would let you on alternative TFL services.  As I was using a Oyster (top-up in advance and swipe you card at the reader) and had to keep changing services as the one I expected was not coming, which mounted up additional charges.  Then they went on to say even if I am to get a refund I'd have to contact all the different companies involved, but scus me as I bought my services through TFL then I would think my contract is with them.  Something that is reiterated in the sales of goods act, so I can see that I've got a long letter to write.

White stuff in London

Looks like there is plenty of the white stuff about, and not one delayed train yet. Though watch this space, as I'm sure it will change.

Everything is late...

Yesterday my train to London was late due to the adverse weather, it was only wind and rain! Last night my train back to the London digs was late too, and now the train into to office is late too. Third times a charm... The announcement said poor rail conditions, also know as leaves on the line. Nice to see a investment in tec to sort this, its cheaper to make me late. So far in the last 3 days I have already lost a hour!

Bowler today and delayed train again

Waitin on my train for the 3rd time this week, trains seem to be almost only running late. Going to probably get worse to with how cold the weather is getting.

On the late train.

Well not through my own choice, this one is apparently going to be 8 minutes late. Should just get into the office in time. So I'll be mostly speed walking.

Tuesday, 21 September 2010

It had to happen sometime.

Well the trains have been rather good of late, even having rather nice journeys. But like the trains its all change and got a 10 minute delay, meaning I'll be late into the office.

Trails in the sky.

Well the planes are back up again, if not from the news then atleast evident from there trails in the sky. Even though I'm a logical man and planes crashing to the ground is bad for business I still feel as though there has been some pressure on the gov bodies to get them back up. I'll stick to trains myself till its all properly 'blows over' as they say.

Waiting again

Well looks like I'm waiting again, train 6 minutes late this time due to over-run engineering works. Missed my connecting train probably.

Delays and Arrivals.

Why is it that when I get to the station early my train is delayed, only 5 minutes but it all adds up when you've been waitin 10. But I bet you if I run late tomorrow that train will be precise in it departure time so I'll have the joy of watchin leave without me.

The Urge to Change

I'm on a train to London Bridge, but I could change and get a closer station to work though I loathed to. Why? Delays and cancelled trains, all bad experiences mean I was late for work. Also I'm sure I'll get a seat on this one.
So far this week things have gone well with only the 6.01 from City Thames being 5 minutes late.

Wednesday, 24 February 2010

First of the week.

Not to bad, first late train of the week, only 3 minutes.

Delays again...

This time as I'm working to late shift my train has been delayed due to a earlier broken down train, so 9 minutes late.

Wednesday, 17 February 2010

Late again, fire on the London Bridge route.

Looks like I'm going to be late again due to a fire further down the line, so I couldn't get the connecting train. That can't be helped but as there is no alternative trains I'm going to have to get a tram to the tube. So I have to swipe out else get a fullp charge later and it bloody charges me 1.40 to stand and see my train is cancelled. Oh well on the tube now.

Un-eventfull day.

Wow, I manage to travel to and from work today and there was not one issue with the train, all where on time and nothing cancelled.  Lets hope the same for the rest of the week.

Continued Delays

Suprise, suprise my train is delayed and judging by the continued 'We are sorry to announce' so are all trains due to the signal problems I had this morning. So hopefully it will stick to the 5 minute delay...

First post and first pain.

Today I had a double joy to experience, stood at the station my First Capital Connect train was unusually scheduled to arrive on time 9.21, but before that was a late train to somewhere else. It pulled in at the station and then promptly stopped working, to which it seems that the driver try to restart it a number of times.  When he did get it going it meant my following train got delayed, only 4 minutes so I wasn't to worried.
Little did I know that when I got to Herne Hill my train would be cancelled due to a points failure, so no trains where running north, and to make it worse the only train I could get from there was to Victoria.  So I stood in the cold and watched that train arrive 5 minutes late too, go to Victoria and had to pay extra to get on the tube to get to where my original train would have dropped me off.
So only 45 minutes late for work today, lets home tonight is easier.
